DEVANLAY

DEVANLAY was a major textile manufacturer and retailer in France with 13 500 employees in 1965 working in 30 factories in the east of France.

Based in Troyes, the company was specialized in the hosiery industry i.e. manufacturing and distribution of textile products. The group had its own TEXTIL brands, JILL, TIMWEAR and SCANDAL, and worked as a subcontractor for other brands or distributors such as LES GALERIES LAFAYETTE and LACOSTE. The group was also active in distribution through LES NOUVELLES GALERIES and UNIPRIX.

After the textile crisis in 1970, the group decided to focus on distribution and became shareholder, exclusive subcontractor and distributor of LACOSTE.

The DEVANLAY group was sold in 1998 to MAUS FRERES.
